A Clean, Well-Lighted Place

The old guy at the cafe was a symbol of loneliness which made the two waiters reflex on their own lives. One of the waiters was a young waiter who apparently seems to just be getting a head start on life and the other waiter has a family and knows that he doesnt want to be lonely. I believe the protagonist was the one waiter that has a family and want to go to home and be with his family and go to bed. The conflict was the waiters trying to get the drunk old guy out of the cafe and out of their hair. The setting is at a cafe and its night and just a well lit place. The story is told from the waiters and it goes back in forth between them. The denoument is they finally get to close the place and go home.

I did not enjoy this story i found it somewhat boring I did not enjoy the plot and setting of this story. It took me three times to understand that the story was set around loneliness. No one wants to be lonely and how the one older waiter wants to get home to his family. I didnt understand in the end if onle one of the guys was a waiter and the other a bartender. In conclusion this story might of had a good message but it didnt stick.
