The author makes the protagonist a strong female who was surrounded by unreliable men. The mood of the protagonist is anger bucause shes angy with all the unreliable men and i believe the antoganist would be all the men that left her. She has all that anger building up and she is also mad because God is taking her to soon in her opinion. All her anger is her way of expressing herself because of all the men and it doesnt help that her daughter cornelia treats her like a child and whispers sbout her. She hates being treated like she cant hear or see what her daughter does to her.
I enjoyed this story because it shows the truth about women dont need men to take care of us. We can do it all on our own and we dont need someone whos going to bring us down. I liked how she raised her children and took care of her home in a way she reminds me of my mother because she did all that without my father. I liked how she was so strong headed and just put her daughter down whenever her daugther was rude to her.
